QUEENSLAND EC 12 CHAMPIONSHIP 2009.
The 26 & 27 th of September, 2009 saw the Twin Towns Radio Yacht Club host the Queensland EC 12 Championship on Kimberley Lake, Banora Point, Northern N.S.W.
Saturday saw fine weather with strong gusty N.W. winds of 10 – 18 knots which was not the preferred conditions, but all sailed on with a variety of size rigs and a few hard luck stories.
Sunday saw mainly N.E winds of 5 to 8 knots which saw these yachts sail in their Majestic beauty. Some very competitive sailing and great sportsmanship showed over the two days.
A consistent Peter Morris took out the first place with Clyde Rogers 2 nd and Yeoman Sands 3 rd. Clance Denman won the Sportsmanship award. Malcolm, Gary, Graeme and Chris all soldiered on wondering what might have been if they had not missed so many races due to various gremlins.
Bill Clancy PRO and Richard Harradine Commodore of TTRYC and their band of helpers did a great job providing a challenging course in a great venue.
